Toongabbie Township Groups Achievements 2025

The Toongabbie Township Group (TTG) is a group of residents or property owners who advocate for and/or organise activities within the Toongabbie township that:

  • Allows for sharing of information, ideas and learnings between all members and community
  • Facilitates effective planning, development and implementation of community projects
  • Work in partnership with other local community groups and associations

Achievements of the TTG in 2025 included:

  • Hosted the ANZAC Day Dawn Service – the very first one held at the new cenotaph!
  • Published the Toongabbie News – a huge Thank You to our volunteer editor Shazelle who prepares the wonderful newsletter editions. Our gratitude also goes to Max from MJB Printing in Toongabbie for printing the newsletter and keeping it stocked-up at the shop and post office. The costs for printing the newsletter are covered by a grant from Latrobe City Council.
  • Maintained the Toongabbie website (https://toongabbie.vic.au) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/toongabbie.vic.au)
  • Put together Information Packs for new and existing residents
  • Supported the Lions Twilight Christmas Market with free face painting, acoustic music, and lollies for Santa to give out (our thanks to Latrobe City for providing the Christmas Grant)
  • Four new guards were constructed and installed by the Toongabbie Mens Shed. The Mens Shed also repainted two of the existing guards to match the new guards. Funding for this project was provided by Latrobe City Council.

The TTG welcome new members who also want to keep Toongabbie a great place to live! Community members are also welcome to attend the meetings without formally joining the group. Please contact Cassandra (0411 422 173) or email toongabbietg@gmail.com for more information and meeting dates.
