Wellington / latrobe lions Club
Actively involved in supporting our local community
The Lions Club Of Wellington/Latrobe are actively involved in supporting our local community such as the Toongabbie Primary School, the CFA and many more.
They also support disaster relief funding for causes including bushfire and flood appeals throughout Australia and they also support Lions International and the Australian Lions Foundation so they in turn can respond to needs as they arise
The Club has donated many thousands of dollars for various disaster reliefs over the most recent years.
This money is primarily raised through community fundraisers including catering, sausage sizzles and collection tins.
As a general rule approximately 70% of funds raised stays in the local area.
The club also organises events such as the Toongabbie Australia Day Celebrations during which the Toongabbie Australia Day Citizen of the year is awarded a certificate and the Rose bowl perpetual trophy as well as having their names recorded on the Australia Day Honour Board at the Mechanics Hall
The club actively encourages and welcomes new members.
In addition, the Wellington-Latrobe Lions Club has supported Lions Australian Spinal Cord Fellowships, a category B National Lions Project. With the money collected around Australia our club has been able to forward on to StepAhead Australia (spinal cord research) over $150,000 since July 2010.
