The Lions Club of Wellington/Latrobe Inc once again put on a wonderful Australia Day Celebration in 2025.

Toongabbie Citizen 2025

Congratulations to Scott Mitchell for receiving Toongabbie Citizen of the Year – Australia Day 2025.

Scott is a dedicated community member who led a project to have a cenotaph installed at the Village Green next to the Mechanics Hall. The cenotaph was officially opened in July 2024 and will serve as a place for reflection and remembrance for many generations to come.

Scott was also recognised for his many years of service with the Toongabbie Fire Brigade, of which he is currently the Captain.

In Scott’s absence the award was accepted by Lions Club of Wellington/Latrobe Inc President Margaret Foulds.
