Making Our Community Better
Future planning for Toongabbie includes new and improved marketing initiatives to create innovative investment opportunities for our community in view of the increase in drive thru tourist traffic as well as the impending completion of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail.
With increased promotion online of Toongabbie, we hope to create new avenues for exposure to a broader audience.
This in turn will provide better economic outcomes for our community, improve our built and natural environment and attract families to our area, securing school numbers and local junior sports programs.
Currently community groups and leaders are working towards improving:
· infrastructure – spoon drains, lighting & community safety issues
· environmental assets – wetlands, Toongabbie Creek, Rail trail
· beautification projects – town entry signage, village green and CFA landscaping
· equipment improvement – for clubs/groups and facilities
· marketing – tourism information signage / wedding package for Mechanics Institute and St David’s Church

Toongabbie has a township representative, Tracey Anton, whoworks in consultation with the Toongabbie Recreation Reserve Committee of Management. Together, they are recognised and acknowledged as the relevant township association with local, state and federal governments.
Representation is based on an advisory role to liaise within our community and on behalf of the community with govt and non-govt. agencies. For any issues of concerns that you may have or wish to discuss regarding current representation > Go to the contact link
Township development and project planning are the major priorities that are currently being addressed. This association is in no way responsible for making any planning decisions for that responsibility falls solely with our governing authorities but it does forward township issues of concern that need addressing.
In September, 2010 a community forum was held to establish a project action plan that noted and prioritised community and infrastructure projects though, any resident or group can continue to progress new issues forward for local and state government consideration in regards to future funding and planning.
